The '90s kids will always say Sachin Tendulkar, whereas the cricket fans of the previous decade will choose Virat Kohli over the Indian maestro as the greatest batter. However, former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar has a different take on this matter.
Speaking on this issue during Netflix's upcoming show "The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan", the fast bowler offered his view of the subject and chose none of them as the best batter from India as he picked former Indian opener Virender Sehwag.
Netflix's Upcoming Documentary Features Sehwag And Akhtar
To the unversed, Netflix is all set to release their upcoming series "The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan" on February 7th on their OTT platform. They have uploaded a thrilling teaser for the documentary, which was presented on February 6th.
In the teaser, Shoaib Akhtar begins by taking Sehwag's name, mentioning that he is the greatest Indian batter to play. Following this, Sehwag next speaks up as he mentions that the first thing that comes to mind when we take Shoaib Akhtar's name is "fast", adding that he is the fastest bowler with a terrifying face. To this, Akhtar laughs humorously, adding that he was a lone ranger, someone who likes to take the limelight.
"Mr. Virender Sehwag, the greatest batsman India has ever produced," says Akhtar
"Shoaib Akhtar, if that name comes to your mind, what's the first word you think of? Fast. World's fastest bowler with a scary face," adds Sehwag next
"I was a lone ranger. A maverick who steals the show," Akhtar tells
"If Shoaib Akhtar has the ball, I also have the bat," Sehwag finishes in style.
But things don't end there. The "Nawab of Najafgarh" Virender Sehwag gave a befitting reply to his Pakistani counterpart by adding that if Akhtar has the ball, then he has the bat in his hand.
