Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had a forgettable start to his ODI career, as his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer got his prized wicket in the ongoing encounter at VCA stadium in Nagpur. Opening the batting for India, Jaiswal managed only 15 runs before Archer got the better of him with a magnificent delivery.

The incident occurred during the fifth over of India's innings after the hosts put up a remarkable bowling effort, restricting the tourists to a sub-par 248-run total. Although the Indian openers started the innings cautiously, ace English speedster Jofra Archer bowled an absolute ripper to draw the first blood for his side.

How Did Archer Dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal?

From around the wicket, Archer bowled a back-of-the-length delivery, surprising Jaiswal with seam movement and bounce. As the left-handed batter tried to nudge the ball off his back foot, the ball straightened slightly off the pitch, taking the outside edge off his bat. English wicketkeeper Phil Salt made no mistake, taking a simple catch and sending the southpaw back to the hut.

Thus, Jaiswal, who was supposed to make his mark in this game, was forced to go back to the dugout with disappointment. The southpaw from Mumbai managed only 15 runs with the help of three boundaries.

India Lose Two Men Early In The Run Chase

After Jaiswal's departure, India lost their captain Rohit Sharma for a low score. As of writing, the hosts were 55 for two, with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer batting on 11* and 23*, respectively.
