India are currently facing England in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Staduim. England won the toss for the game and opted to bat first.

The visitors made a great start as Phil Salt and Ben Duckett came out with an all-out approach and put the Indian bowlers on the back foot with their intent. Just when it looked like Ben Duckett and Phil Salt would take the game away from India, a brilliant effort in the field by Shreyas Iyer brought about the demise of Salt.

Jos Buttler and Joe Root Try To Bring England Back On Track

After the fall of Salt, India made a comeback into the game by picking up the quick wickets of Duckett and Brook. As England were lingering at 77/3, Joe Root and Jos Buttler tried to get the innings back on track by working the ball around.

Even though Root failed to convert his start, Buttler continued the good work and passed his half-century. The English captain was looking all set to convert the half-century to a big score and put India under pressure. However, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya combined to bring an end to Buttler's stay and put England under further pressure.

Jos Buttler Falls Prey To Axar Patel

It was the last delivery of the 33rd over when Patel bowled a shortish delivery at the leg stump line. Buttler rocked back and tried to pull that hard. However, all the English captain managed was a top edge to be taken by Hardik Pandya at short fine leg. It was an easy catch for the Indian all-rounder that brought an end to Buttler's effort, which could have been worrying for the home team.

Immediately after the wicket, the Indian fans were seen celebrating as they understood the importance of the wicket. Gautam Gambhir also seemed satisfied with the wicket and was seen tapping the table in front of him in excitement.
