Shreyanka Patil provided much-needed support to Ellyse Perry’s 44-run blitz with a death-overs cameo against Mumbai Indians. Turning up for RCB in match number nine of the ongoing WPL 2024 season in Bengaluru, the 21-year-old Indian all-rounder brought out an audacious reverse-sweep off Mumbai Indians leg-spinner Amelia Kerr during the final over of the innings.

Patil ended up listing seven unbeaten runs off just five balls, as RCB recovered their way to a competitive 131-6 by the end of their 20 overs.

At a time when RCB were precariously placed at 124-6 and were in dire need of some quick runs, Patil shuffled across her crease to trickle Kerr into the fence with an audacious reverse-sweep.

With Richa Ghosh and Sophie Molineux also failing to make any impact with the bat, RCB’s Australian star Ellyse Perry led her side to recovery with a belligerent 44* off 38 balls. Her 52-run partnership with Georgia Wareham and final-over charge with Shreyanka Patil eventually lifted RCB to a competitive 131-6.
