RCB’s 21-year-old sensation, Shreyanka Patil, admires Virat Kohli a lot. And on Saturday evening at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium against Mumbai Indians, what she pulled off while fielding will surely make the talismanic Indian batter so proud.

Coming to defend a below-par 131, RCB had to produce a spirited fielding performance to keep themselves in the hunt against Nat Sciver Burnt and her girls. Shreyanka did her bit, as dangerous-hitting all-rounder Hayley Matthews went hard against Sophie Devine to finish things off in the Powerplay.

The ball seemed to go over the fans, only before Shreyanka produced an absolute beauty of an effort. She was placed at long on and ran backwards to catch the ball first after perfectly leaping to her right. However, just when she realized the momentum of her jump was taking her boundary line, she released the ball with a back-flick and saved five important runs for her side.

The effort reminded everyone of Virat Kohli’s stupendous fielding effort against Afghanistan, which incidentally also came in Bengaluru only a couple of months ago. Even Nicholas Pooran pulled off an exactly same effort in IPL 2020.

Notably, RCB have been excellent in the fielding, with Georgia Wareham making headlines a few days ago.
