Romario Shepherd is a quality all-rounder and has the ability to change the complexion of the game with both ball and bat. In West Indies' first game of T20 World Cup 2024, Romario Shepherd was handed the second over of the match and the big man delivered by getting the better of Tony Ura on his fifth delivery.

It was a short of a length delivery, outside off and Ura who was struggling to get going, made a tentative push towards the ball. He only managed to get an outside edge though and Nicholas Pooran behind the stumps took an easy catch.

In the next over, Akeal Hosein knocked over Lega Siaka with a beauty as well and West Indies would be looking to knock out down Papua New Guinea as early as possible to start off the home World Cup with a big win.

Earlier, Rovman Powell won the toss and decided to bowl first and they are going with only two frontline pacers with the home team relying on two pace-bowling all-rounders - Shepherd and Andre Russell to make up for that third seamer's overs.
