The T20 World Cup 2024 is underway in style and in the fourth match of the tournament, we have Sri Lanka up against South Africa at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Both teams will be itching to start off their tournament with a bang, and it promises to be a cracking encounter between two quality teams from Group D.

South Africa will be led by Aiden Markram and despite boasting of some quality teams over the years, they have not been able to make it to the semis in the T20 World Cup even once. This time around too, they look a balanced unit with plenty of match-winners.

Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks will open, while skipper Aiden Markram will bat at 3. He will be followed by the likes of Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs, and all of them have the skills and experience to excel in T20 format. Marco Jansen will bat at 7 and will have to play the role of all-rounder and his performance will go a long way in determining South Africa's fortunes this World Cup.

On the bowling front, Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee are likely to be two pacers alongside Marco Jansen. Anrich Nortje is there, but he has not been in great form in recent times, and might miss out. The two spinners will be Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi, and overall, South Africa have all the arsenal to make a rollicking start in New York.
