Saud Shakeel was stumped [X]
After toiling hard, Bangladesh finally managed to break the mammoth stand between Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Experienced off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz emerged as his nemesis, as he dismissed him with a sharp turner.
The incident occurred during the 95th over of Pakistan's innings when Shakeel and Rizwan had already formed a formidable stand for the fifth wicket.
As Bangladesh desperately needed a breakthrough, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto brought Mehidy into the attack.
His move paid rich dividends, as the off-spinner got rid of Shakeel on the final delivery of his over.
From around the wicket, Mehidy bowled a tossed-up delivery that turned sharply away from Shakeel.
As the southpaw tried to play a drive, he was comprehensively beaten by Mehidy's guile. The ball was cleanly collected by Litton Das, who dislodged the bails in a flash to send him back to the hut.
His lightning speed behind the stumps reminded fans of legendary Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni, who used to execute such kind of stumpings.
