Shaheen Afridi can bat, and one of his shots stole the limelight on Thursday (June 6) when Pakistan took on the USA in Match 11 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
After watching Pakistan lose wickets in regular intervals, Shaheen, the former Pakistan captain, had to provide with lusty blows during the death overs to help his side close on a respectable total. And he delivered, as he remained not out on a quick-fire 16-ball 23.
Among his flamboyant hitting, the shot he smashed on the penultimate delivery of the innings made headlines, and it was Ali Khan, the American fast bowler who was born in Pakistan, who was at the receiving end.
Coming from around the wicket, Ali tried to nail a yorker, only to miss it completely. It came as a half-volley to Shaheen, who remained deep in the crease before smacking it way over long-off for an effortless six.

At the time of writing this, the USA are in the chase, reaching 14/0 at the end of two overs after coming to chase 160-run target.
