In a lively This or That session, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan made the headlines by offering fans a glimpse into his cricketing preferences while sharing laughs with sports presenter Shefali Bagga. The session, held on the field during the Delhi Premier League, allowed Dhawan to pick between some of cricket's biggest names.

Dhawan picks Rohit Over Gill, Stokes, and Warner

Shefali Bagga wasted no time in firing away questions, starting with a comparison between two of India's modern batting stalwarts—Shubman Gill and captain Rohit Sharma. Dhawan chose Rohit Sharma, his long-time opening partner, without batting an eyelid.

When asked to pick between Rohit and England's Ben Stokes, Dhawan stuck to his guns, once again picking the 'Hitman'. As the questions continued, Dhawan's admiration for Rohit remained unflinched until one big name came into the mix.

Dhoni vs The World but Sachin Stands Above All

The real fun began when Bagga asked the southpaw to choose between Rohit and MS Dhoni. Dhawan paused for a brief second—a penny for his thoughts—before picking Dhoni, his first Indian captain.

In a subsequent round, when asked to choose between Dhoni and Australian opener David Warner, the former India opener stayed loyal to Dhoni.

The questions kept coming, and Dhawan remained firm. Between Dhoni and Jasprit Bumrah? Dhoni again. And when it came down to the ultimate showdown—Dhoni or Virat Kohli—Dhawan didn't hesitate for a second, exclaiming "Dhoni Bhai" with an affectionate smile.

But the toughest question was yet to come—Dhoni or Sachin Tendulkar. Shikhar Dhawan pondered, visibly torn between two legends of the game. After a moment, he respectfully said, "For me, Sachin Paaji."

Shikhar Dhawan Announced His Retirement From Professional Cricket

Shikhar Dhawan's appearance in the This or That session comes on the back of his retirement announcement from international and domestic cricket.

Dhawan, often dubbed India's 'ICC tournament specialist,' made his last appearance for Team India in the ODI series against Bangladesh in 2022. Despite his stellar performances over the years, a below-par outing in that series saw him lose his place, and the doors to the 2023 World Cup closed on him.

Having donned the Indian jersey for over a decade, Dhawan played under various captains, including MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma. He made his ODI and Test debuts under Dhoni, becoming a key player in several ICC tournaments.
