Shaheen Afridi, the powerhouse of Pakistan's pace attack, showcased his resilience once again in the must-win T20 World Cup match against Canada at Nassau County Stadium.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first, aiming to take early wickets. Mohammad Amir provided the first breakthrough in the 3rd over.

Despite being hit for back-to-back boundaries in an earlier over, Shaheen Afridi regained his form. In the 6th over, Babar Azam reintroduced Shaheen into the attack, and the move paid off immediately.

On the first ball of his over, Shaheen dismissed Pargat Singh, who had scored only 2 runs.

The pivotal moment occurred with a back-of-a-length delivery that pitched on the middle and leg stump line, angling away from the right-hander with extra bounce. Pargat Singh, caught in two minds, initially followed the line of the ball but then tried to drop his wrists.

However, he failed to do so in time, and the ball brushed his gloves, flying to first slip. Fakhar Zaman was positioned perfectly and made a safe catch.

At the time of writing, Canada stands at 43 for 3 in 7 overs, struggling against Pakistan's fierce bowling attack.
