In the ongoing match between Pakistan and Canada at the Nassau County International Stadium, the Men in Green won the toss and elected to field first.
Shaheen Afridi opened the proceedings with the ball but got hammered for two fours in his first over which forced skipper Babar Azam to end his spell prematurely. Azam trusted Mohammad Amir with the ball and brought him for the 3rd over of the match.
Amir, who went for a four on the first ball, bounced back and repaid the faith shown in him by the skipper by taking a wicket on the last ball of his first over.
Amir put his ability to swing the ball both ways to full use as he trapped Canadian opener Navneet Dhaliwal by bowling an in-swinger on the last ball after five deliveries that went away from him. Amir bowled a perfect in-swinging delivery that sent Navneet's middle stump cartwheeling in the air.
