During the Eliminator contest of ILT20 2025 between Sharjah Warriorz and MI Emirates, Will Jacks embarrassed himself by getting cleaned against Ashton Agar. The batter made room for a cut but got beaten as the ball crashed into the stumps, leading to his early dismissal.
MI Emirates faced Sharjah Warriorz in the Eliminator contest of ILT20 2025 season. The Emirates were asked to bat first with Andre Fletcher getting dismissed off a 3-ball duck, leading to an early setback.
However, Will Jacks knitted a 34-run partnership with Tom Banton for the second wicket. Just when the Emirates had things under control, Ashton Agar got a crucial breakthrough.
Will Jacks’ dismissal in ILT20 send shivers to Mumbai Indians
Warriorz’s left-arm spinner Ashton Agar made a significant impact in the powerplay, cleaning up Emirates' Will Jacks with a beautifully disguised arm-ball.
The delivery was a textbook arm ball that angled in sharply, deceiving Jacks for pace. The English opener attempted to make room and execute a cut shot, but he left his stumps exposed which proved to be a costly mistake.
The ball zipped through and crashed into the stumps, sending Jacks back to the pavilion for 18 off 17 balls. The wicket was much-needed for the Warriorz as Jacks, who, despite his very shaky stay at the crease, started getting into the groove as well with three crisp boundaries.
That being said, Jacks’ dismissal is a matter of concern for Mumbai Indians. They bought him for a whopping price of INR 5.25 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Moreover, the batter has been experimenting with the opening role for a while. However, he failed when his team needed him the most.
He had to set the stage for MI Emirates to set a big total on the eve of the Eliminator. However, Will Jacks disappointed big time as Emirates landed in trouble with two quick wickets in the powerplay.
