When the possibility of taking a DRS arises, adrenaline rushes through the veins, and decisions become crucial.

Rohit Sharma, who has always been instinctive in this case and, more often than not, trusts their players before taking it, did not do the same on Thursday (March 7) during the final Test of the five-match series between India and England, taking place in Dharamsala.

The incident happened when Zak Crawley, batting on 61, was playing against Kuldeep Yadav during the 26th over of England’s innings. It was an excellent flighted delivery towards the leg side, which Crawley, while playing, failed to get the proper connection with.

Sarfaraz, placed at short leg, dived to his right at full stretch and plucked a superb catch, thinking that there was a connection with Crawley’s bat before it touched Dhruv Jurel’s big gloves, and came to him as a rebound.

After watching the umpire not give it out, Sarfaraz immediately raised his finger and went straight to Rohit to convince him to take a DRS. However, Dhruv Jurel was not confident enough to challenge it, and hence, Rohit did not dare challenge the decision.

However, the replay showed Sarfaraz, as well as Shubman Gill, was right. As UltraEdge confirmed, there was a thin nick before Sarfaraz’s grab, and hence, both of them, who share a great bond, were having a smile exchange after watching the replay on the big screen. On the other hand, Dhruv Jurel seemed shy on the field after making an error.
