Sarfaraz Ahmed made headlines on Sunday (October 1) during the final day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023/24 fixture between Lahore Whites and Karachi Whites in Lahore. The 36-year-old scored a stunning double hundred, laced with 24 fours and one six, as Karachi posted 784/5 in reply to Lahore’s 509/9.

The former Pakistani captain arrived at the milestone in grand fashion by pulling Ahmed Daniyal for four when he was batting on 196*. When he finally reached the milestone, the joy on his face demonstrated how much it meant to him.

Pakistan Cricket appreciated Sarfaraz's performance, as they shared a video of him hitting Ahmed Daniyal for four runs and celebrating his magnificent knock.

As many as five Karachi batsmen—Khurram Manzoor, Ammad Alam, Asad Shafiq, Rameez Aziz, and Sarfaraz—scored 100 runs or more during the innings. Before that, five batsmen in a same innings have not hit centuries in the competition, not even once.

Sarfaraz has been dropped from Pakistan squad which is currently in India for the ODI World Cup. The Men in Green will play their fist match of the competition on October 6, against the Netherlands in Hyderabad.
