Senior Pakistan wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed plucked a stunning catch while diving to his right on Day 3 of his side’s four-day warm-up fixture against Australian Prime Minister’s XI. Taking field at the Manuka Oval ahead of Pakistan’s three-match Test series against the hosts, Ahmed’s sensational effort helped speedster Faheem Ashraf get rid of well-set batter Cameron Green for 46.

Australian Prime Ministers XI batters kept Pakistan players on the field throughout Day 3 of their four-day warm-up fixture at Canberra’s Manuka Oval. Resuming Day 3 morning at 149-2, the hosts stretched their total till 367 by stumps at the loss of just two additional wickets.

Cameron Green became the first wicket to fall early in the morning courtesy of a wicketkeeping brilliance from visiting glovesman Sarfaraz Ahmed. The cricketer dove to his right after Green’s attempted cover drive off Faheem Ashraf flew through his outside edge on the 15th over of the day.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan faced more than 116 overs before declaring their first innings at 391-9. Newly-appointed skipper Shan Masood notched up an unbeaten double century while batting stalwart Babar Azam scored a fluent 40 at number four.

Senior man Sarfaraz Ahmed himself compiled a rapid 41 from just 47 balls in the middle-order, and shared a crucial 73-run partnership with double centurion Masood.

The match serves as Pakistan’s dress rehearsal ahead of their upcoming three-match Test series against the hosts. The first of the three Tests will commence from December 14 onwards at the Perth Stadium, and the fixtures constitute a part of the ongoing 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
