In the modern age cricket players prefer T20 cricket over the traditional Tests, given how less demanding and more paying the former format is.

Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf created a huge controversy, when the bowler pulled out of a three-Test tour of Australia, and instead opted to feature in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 for Melbourne Stars.

Rauf faced criticism back home and also almost managed to not get an NOC from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for BBL 2023-24.

Former Pakistan captain and legend Wasim Akram, who is in Australia to commentate for the upcoming Test series gave his hot take on Rauf's decision to skip Tests. As quoted by FOX Sports, Akram while speaking during an event, asserted that Test is a big boy's game, and one can only be remembered as a great if they perform in the longest format all while respecting Rauf's decision.

Here's what Akram said

"That’s his decision. He’s a contracted player, so there’s a lot of controversies back home. There are some white-ball specialist cricketers in this day and age … if he thinks he’s not there as yet, then that’s his call.

Test is a big boy’s game at the end of the day. You’ve got to bowl eight-over spells. In T20 you bowl four overs and stand at fine leg. Piece of cake. Test cricket is a long race, and if you want to be remembered as a great of the game, that’s where Test cricket comes in.”

The first Test between Pakistan and Australia will be played on December 14 at Perth Stadium, where the former team will be captain by Shan Masood.
