Sam Konstas' popularity has increased by leaps and bounds in the last couple of months and made a superb start to his international career with a fifty on debut. He was also involved in heated conversations with Indian players and is considered as the next bad boy of Australian cricket.

He is now back in Big Bash League where he stroked a fifty before his international debut and Sydney Thunder fans have high expectations from the young man. The 19-year-old though could not make an impact against Hobart Hurricanes in the 29th match of the season as fast and furious Riley Meredith got the better of him.

It was the fifth delivery of the fourth over and Riley Meredith who has played in IPL as well as for Australian in the past, produced a sharp bouncer. It was angling on middle and leg and Sam Konstas tried to play a pull shot, but the ball hurried onto him and the opener got a glove on it.

The ball looped up in the air towards the keeper and Matthew Wade grabbed an easy catch. He scored four off 9 balls and struggled to get going, as Hurricanes bowlers bowled with great discipline after winning the toss.

However, despite wickets falling at the other end, David Warner stood tall and scored a valiant fifty. Thunders are currently at the top of the table with four wins in seven matches while Hobart Hurricanes have won four out of their six matches.
