Former Indian fast bowler and former Royal Challengers Bengaluru star in IPL, Varun Aaron, declared his retirement from international cricket through a social media post. Aaron thanked his family, sponsors, and coaches while announcing his decision to retire.

Varun Aaron came into first-class cricket in the year 2008 against Jammu and Kashmir. He soon established himself in the cricketing arena for his outright speed. He made his Test debut for India against the West Indies in 2011, playing nine Tests for the country, taking 18 wickets, and in nine ODIs, scalping 11 wickets.

Despite injuries limiting his international career, Aaron was still a household name in domestic cricket, amassing 168 wickets in 65 first-class matches at an average of 33.74, including six five-wicket hauls. He also represented Leicestershire in the English county circuit.
