The Syndey Thunder are playing against the Hobart Hurricanes in the 29th match of the Big Bash League 2024-25 (BBL 14). The match is being played at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Australia.

The Hurricanes won the toss ahead of the game and opted to field first. The Thunder did not have a great start to their innings as Sam Konstas fell without scoring much.

It was David Warner who took charge after the fall of the first wicket. The Thunder skipper has played a steady knock since the fall of Konstas and has propelled the team towards a respectable total.

While Warner was seen pacing his knock in his trademark style by combining attack with steady progression, there was an instance during the innings that turned out to be an 'Ouch' moment from him.

Warner's Bat Handle Breaks To Hurt Him

The incident happened on the first ball of the fourth over. Riley Meredith bowled a full delivery outside the off stump and gave Warner some room. The veteran south-paw panted his front foot ahead and slammed the ball with force to the mid-off fielder. There was a lot of timing and force involved in the shot, and the incident after that cleared it even more.

As Warner completed the shot, the bat's blade broke from the handle and hit the batter on the back of his bat. The expression on Warner's face revealed that he was hurt, but he requested a change of equipment and carried on with his innings.
