Things are going so far so good for the Australian prodigy Sam Konstas and what is better than notching up a record in your debut Big Bash League Season? The 19-year-old has smashed a blazing half-ton off 20 balls against the Adelaide Strikers taking BBL 14 match by storm.

Big Bash League's latest season is also Sam's debut season and he is already starting to make headlines. Notably, Konstas also penned his name as the fastest player to score fifty runs for Sydney Thunder as well as the youngest to score half a ton in BBL history.

Konstas Pips Hales; Scores Fastest Fifty Ever For Sydney Thunder

Konstas' incredible innings included eight boundaries and two sixes, setting a new record for the fastest half-century in Thunder history. Sam Konstas was explosive with the bat and took the attack to the bowlers from the outset. His fearless batting display left the Strikers bowlers stunned and the Thunder fans ecstatic.

Notably, England cricketer Alex Hales held the record for the fastest-ever century for Sydney Thunder as he scored a fifty off 21 balls back on 202 against Melbourne Stars. Daniel Sams and Usman Khawaja rank next with their fifties coming off of 23 and 24 balls respectively.

In the BBL match against Strikers, where Konstas opened to chase Strikers' 183, he was however sent back after a fiery 56 off 27 by Fabian Allen. Allen trapped him for an LBW with an arm ball, full, on middle stump. Konstas attempting a flick on the front foot was stuck and was sent back to the pavilion.

Konsta's Consistent Climb

Konstas' rapid rise to prominence is no surprise. He recently made headlines by scoring twin centuries in a Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, becoming the youngest player to achieve this milestone since Ricky Ponting in 1993.

His exceptional talent has also earned him a spot in Australia's U19 squad, where he showcased his batting prowess with a century against West Indies in the U19 World Cup. Additionally, Konstas also impressed with his 107-run knock against India as he played for Australia Prime Minister's XI in the pink-ball practice game during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Manuka Oval.
