Pakistan's promising batter Saim Ayub had a forgettable outing with the bat, as Mir Hamza dismissed him cheaply in the ongoing Champions Cup encounter between Panthers and Dolphins at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Opening the batting for the Panthers, Saim managed only six runs before Hamza got his prized scalp.

The incident occurred during the third over of the Panthers' innings after their captain Shadab Khan opted to bat. The seasoned all-rounder's decision backfired on his side, with Mir Hamza rattling the Panthers' top-order with twin strikes. The left-arm pacer, who recently exhibited sublime form in the Bangladesh Tests, got rid of Ayub before removing Abdul Wahid Bangalzai.

Hamza initially bowled four dot balls on the trot to keep Saim under the pump. As pressure was building on him, the stylish left-hander was forced to play a risky shot to break the shackles. From over the wicket, Mir Hamza bowled a full-length delivery as Saim played an aerial no-look shot in a bid to collect six runs.

However, he faced severe consequences for his action, with the ball gobbling up in the air following a top-edge off his bat. Interestingly, Mohammad Huraira, who is Saim's competitor for an opening slot in Pakistan's Test XI, took the catch and sent him packing.

Panthers Lose Two Wickets As Usman Khan Joins Umar Siddiq

After getting Saim, Mir Hamza jolted the Panthers with Abdul Wahid Bangalzai's wicket. After the fall of the second wicket, the in-form Usman Khan joined Umar Siddiq in the middle. As of writing, the Panthers were in a spot of bother, placed at 35 for two in 9.2 overs.
