In a heated moment caught on camera, India captain Rohit Sharma yelled at Mohammed Siraj on Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia. Sharma was apparently displeased with Siraj ignoring his field adjustment calls and had an immediate outburst that was captured live on the cameras.

The Boxing Day Test is currently tilted in Australia’s favour as they bowled out India for 369 runs on Day 4. Nitish Reddy’s century helped the visitors cut down the lead to 105 runs.

Australia faced an early setback in the third inning as Jasprit Bumrah sent Sam Konstas back. The pacer knocked out the batter’s stumps with a ripper delivery. Mohammed Siraj then joined the party to dismiss Usman Khwaja.

With 43/2 flashing on the scoreboard, Steve Smith stepped into the middle to bat with Marnus Labuschagne. The duo batted with a strong mindset and made minimal errors. Their brief resistance frustrated India captain Rohit Sharma as he had an ugly outburst towards Siraj.

For the 25th over, Sharma summoned Ravindra Jadeja. He wanted the fielder at deep long off, Mohammed Siraj, inside the circle.

However, the latter apparently failed to react promptly to his captain’s field adjustment call. Rohit, in sheer frustration, had a go at Siraj, hurling abuses. The play was halted for a minute as the skipper adjusted the field again.

Meanwhile, following the end of the first session on Day 4, Australia had 53 runs on the board at the loss of two wickets. They still have a 158-run lead firmly in place. On the other hand, for India, Bumrah and Siraj fetched a wicket each. But the bowling unit has a mountain to climb to save this Test match and the series subsequently.
