The fight between India and Australia is heating up at the MCG in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Indian team made a brilliant comeback during the third day of the game are now taking the attack to the home team on the fourth day.
After Australia put 474 runs on the board in the first innings of the game. In reply, India showed great resilience and it was a gutsy knock by Nitish Reddy that took India well past the 300 mark. The Indian all-rounder scored a brilliant Hundred and took the Indian total to 369, before they were bundled out in the 120th over of the innings.
The home team had a lead of 105 runs after the first innings and their prime target from their on would have been to bat the Indian team out of this game. On the other hand, India would have targeted early wickets to keep their hopes of winning the game alive.
When we talk about taking wickets for India, Jasprit Bumrah is the name that comes to the mind. He is the best wicket taking option for the Indian captain in any format and he stood up to the expectation as he dismissed Sam Konstas on the fourth day of the match.
Bumrah Bowled Sam Konstas With A Peach Of A Delivery
During the seventh over of the Australian second innings, Bumrah bowled a good length delivery around the off stump. The ball swung into the bat and beat the young opener all ends up. Konstas was trying to defend the ball off the front foot, however, there was a huge gap between his bat and pad. Bumrah's delivery snuck in through the gap and hit the middle stump to end the stay of the debutant
Immediately after taking the wicket Bumrah was seen celebrating in a unique way. He started gesturing as if he was rallying the crowd. This was a proper sent off to the Australian batter as Konstas was seen doing a similar celebration after the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Bumrah is generally not seen celebrating in such a way. However, the way the young batter attacked the Indian bowler in the previous innings and the general atmosphere in the game, it was the ace pacer venting out his feelings.
