During the sole T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match against Bangladesh, Indian captain Rohit Sharma found himself in an embarrassing situation after attempting an awkward switch hit that did not go as planned.

Indian cricket team, before kick starting the T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on June 5, played a warm-up game against Bangladesh on Saturday at New York.

Virat Kohli missed the game due to travel fatigue as he landed in the USA just yesterday. Regardless, he was seen practising on the sidelines.

That being said, India batted first, with captain Rohit Sharma opening the innings alongside Sanju Samson. The promotion didn't go as planned, as Samson wasted his opportunity.

Regardless, Rishabh Pant entered the field for the first time in 15 months in national colours and left a definite mark with a blistering half-century.

Meanwhile, captain Rohit Sharma was caught in an awkward moment during his 19 ball 23 runs innings when he attempted a rare switch hit. Rohit is a traditional batter who relies on textbook shots.

However, with T20 cricket constantly evolving, Rohit Sharma chose to add a variety of unconventional shots to his arsenal for the T20 World Cup 2024.

While Rohit's heart was at the right place, he failed miserably in his attempt. He got into the position early and the ball spun, leaving Rohit in an awkward situation. He couldn't connect the ball and almost stumbled on his feet.

Fortunately, Rohit Sharma survived to extend his innings until the 7th over where Mahmudullah got the better of the Indian skipper.

Having said that, India finished with a 182 runs total courtesy of Hardik Pandya's quick 23 ball 40 runs finish.
