Grand Prairie Stadium Dallas Weather Report For USA Vs CAN T20 World Cup Match

Anticipation around the 2024 T20 World Cup tournament opener between the USA and Canada to take a hit as rain threat is likely to play a massive spoilsport on Saturday in Texas.

The wait for the 2024 T20 World Cup is over. The tournament will officially kick off on Saturday, June 2, with the opening game scheduled between hosts USA and neighbouring country Canada.

USA have shown that they are not the underdogs and cannot be taken lightly, trashing full-time member nation Bangladesh in a T20 series last month.

That being said, the much-anticipated contest is scheduled to be held at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. The game will be held late at night, and unfortunately, the weather prediction for the day does not seem very promising for the smooth conduct of a cricket game.

The entire state of the USA has been reeling under rainfall in the past couple of weeks, and Texas has witnessed record rainfall. Notably, three warm-up games scheduled at the venue were abandoned due to incessant rain.

As far as Saturday's weather is concerned, rain gods seem unlikely to relent. Accuweather predicts an 80% chance of precipitation and 48% odds of thunderstorms during game hours in Texas.

The wind flow will remain at 32 km/h, and rainfall is expected to last until 2 hours. While only 3.4 mm of rain is predicted, it will be enough to abandon the USA vs. Canada game as the venue's drainage system is not up to the mark. Temperatures will hover around 24° and will continue to dip as the game progresses.

Overall, the Texas weather for the tournament opening game between the USA and Canada does not seem promising, and the threat of abandonment will loom throughout the day.
