In the ongoing ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 contest, India A's impressive bowling has left Pakistan A in tatters at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

India A in driver's seat after bowlers deliver stunning performance

After choosing to bat first, Pakistan A were left reeling at 9/2 in the early overs due to the spectacular bowling of Indian all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar.

Hangargekar dealt the initial blows by dismissing Saim Ayub and Omair Yousuf, both for ducks. However, the major highlight of the day was a crucial breakthrough provided by Riyan Parag which slowed down Pakistan A's recovery attempt.

Following Hangargekar's deadly spell, Sahibzada Farhan and Haseebullah Khan tried to consolidate the innings with a 36-run stand. Farhan, who was the mainstay, scored a fluent 35 off 36 balls with eight boundaries. But the steady comeback was disrupted when Parag stepped up.

The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder delivered a short ball which Farhan pulled hard but without enough power. This led to a catch at deep square leg by Nitish Reddy, bringing an end to Farhan's innings. This was a key moment in the match as it stemmed the flow of runs and took away the momentum from Pakistan A.

Further troubles piled on for Pakistan A when left-arm spinner Manav Suthar claimed three scalps in quick succession. He knocked off Kamran Ghulam, Haseebullah Khan, and skipper Mohammad Haris to weaken the batting order significantly.

At the time of writing, Pakistan A are struggling at 134/6 in 34 overs. The task ahead is monumental for Pakistan batsmen Qasim Akram and Mubasir Khan who are currently in the middle trying to resurrect the Pakistan innings.

The Men in Green will have to ensure that they put up a big score if they are to have any chance against a strong Indian A batting line-up.
