Rohit Sharma Enters Top 10, Jaiswal Makes Maiden Appearance in Latest ICC Test Rankings

India's winning start to the World Test Championship 2023-2025 cycle against West Indies has resulted in significant changes to the latest ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings. Indian captain, Rohit Sharma’s 10th Test century during the first Test, has catapulted him back into the top ten, where he ranks higher than his teammates Virat Kohli (14th) and Rishabh Pant (11th).

Indian players make significant gains in latest ICC Test Rankings

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his debut in the Dominica Test, has also forayed into the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings. After scoring a record-breaking 171 runs from 387 balls, the prodigious opener finds himself at the 73rd spot in the batting rankings.




The bowling arena also saw equal success with the top-ranked bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, increasing his lead after securing a 12-wicket haul for the match. The off-spinner’s incredible showing resulted in a 24-point bump, distancing him by 56 points from Australian captain Pat Cummins.

Ravindra Jadeja also climbed three spots to seventh overall in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings due to his five-wicket contribution during the game against the Windies.

The Indian player have another chance to boost their standings as they gear up for the second and last Test of the series against the West Indies which is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 20, in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Shakib, Litton on the rise in ICC T20I Rankings

Meanwhile, the recent T20I series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan saw movements in the rankings, despite Rashid Khan's tepid performance. Nonetheless, he managed to extend his lead in the T20I bowler rankings.

On the other hand, courtesy of their consistent performances in Bangladesh's 2-0 win in the T20I series over Afghanistan, Shakib Al Hasan and Nasum Ahmed witnessed remarkable leaps in their positions. 

While the veteran all-rounder jumped eight positions to occupy 16th place in the T20I bowler rankings, the left-arm spinner moved up 17 positions to tie for 33rd. Furthermore, stand-in captain, Litton Das advanced three spots to secure 18th spot on the T20I batters' list.
