Whenever Rishabh Pant is batting in the middle, you expect unforeseen things to happen. Such a scene occoured on Saturday when India met Sri Lanka in Pallekele in first T20I of the three-match series.

The incident happened during the 19th over of India's innings when Pant was facing Matheesha Pathirana, who eventually got Pant's wicket. While facing the Sri Lankan sensation, Pant lost his grip of the bat, something which we have seen before. In the process, the ball went past the fine leg for a four, which no one anticipated.

Needless to say, Pathirana's reaction after Pant's boundary told the story of his shot.

Notably, Pant, who fell after scoring 49 off 33 balls, smashed a helicopter shot as well. India, batting first, made 213/7, while Sri Lanka, at the time of writing this, are 23/0 off 2.4 overs.

For Sri Lanka, it would be a tough task to complete, although they have the potential to get the job done, with the likes of Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, and Wanindu Hasaranga still to come.
