Seattle Orcas captain, Wayne Parnell, put in a sensational performance and played a crucial role in dismantling Texas Super Kings (TSK) during Match 10 of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 at Church Street Park, Morrisville, on Saturday.

Parnell's twin-strike over shifted the momentum of the game

Parnell's lethal bowling was the highlight of the match, particularly the eighth over, where he took two pivotal wickets, significantly hampering TSK's momentum and setting the stage for the Orcas' emphatic victory.

After already dismissing Cody Chetty in the final ball of the powerplay, Parnell began the eighth over with a bang, claiming the all-important wicket of his fellow countryman, David Miller.

The dynamic speedster expertly found the gap between Miller's bat and pad, leaving the left-handed batter helplessly looking on as his wickets were scattered. The explosive Miller's dismissal for just eight runs was a significant blow to the TSK.

Parnell's magic in the eighth over was far from over. Three balls later, he managed to send Milind Kumar back to the pavilion. Kumar's attempt to execute a loose pull shot from a round-the-wicket delivery ended in despair as the ball soared into the air, only to land securely in the hands of Nauman Anwar in the deep.

The double-wicket over was not just a game-changer; it represented a statement of intent from Parnell and the Seattle Orcas.

The South African's incredible efforts limited the Faf du Plessis led TSK to a total of 127, setting Seattle Orcas with a modest target of 128.

The Orcas' response was anchored by a stable half-century from Quinton de Kock (53 off 36 balls) and a quickfire knock by Heinrich Klaasen (42* off 21 balls). Together, they ensured the Orcas' win, securing the target with four overs to spare and only two wickets lost.
