Legendary Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry had a forgettable day in the office in Birmingham Phoenix's ongoing Women's Hundred encounter against Trent Rockets. After being dismissed for five runs, Perry conceded 14 runs in her first five during Trent's run chase.

The incident occurred in the very first set of the Rockets' innings after they restricted the Phoenix to 112 runs, thanks to Ash Gardner's bowling masterclass. 

Opening the batting for Trent Rockets, aggressive batter Bryony Smith came out with all guns blazing, hammering three consecutive fours in the very first set. 

She targeted the Phoenix's captain, Ellyse Perry, who introduced herself as the new ball operator. 

After starting the set with a dot ball, Perry dropped it short, as Smith pulled it fiercely for a boundary. 

She over-corrected herself with a low full toss, which Smith easily dispatched for a boundary through the cow corner. 

Perry bowled another short-of-good-length delivery as her penultimate ball, with Smith pulling it over the mid-on for a four. 

However, the explosive right-handed batter couldn't convert her start into a big score, being dismissed for 13 runs off Katie Levick's bowling. 

As of writing, Trent Rockets were 42 for two in 36 balls, needing 71 runs off 64 deliveries to win.
