Pakistan's newly appointed vice-captain Saud Shakeel raised eyebrows with his interesting remark on Shaheen Afridi's workload in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Notably, Afridi has been a valuable asset for Pakistan across formats. So, considering he plays a crucial role for Pakistan in all three formats, the hosts might manage his workload during the Bangladesh series.

'It's none of my concern' - Saud on Shaheen's workload

Meanwhile, before the first Test, Saud Shakeel was questioned about Pakistan's plans to manage Shaheen's workload in the series.

However, the southpaw, who will be Shan Masood's deputy in the Bangladesh Tests, deferred the question, saying, "Shaheen can tell you better about this. It is none of my concern."

Nevertheless, he acknowledged Shaheen's importance for the side, later clarifying that the team management would certainly take care of him.

"Shaheen is our main bowler, so the team management will make a decision that is best for him," he added.

Recently, Pakistan announced a robust squad for the Bangladesh Tests, naming Shakeel their new vice-captain in Tests.

Shan Masood will lead the hosts, with Shaheen Afridi spearheading the bowling attack alongside Mir Hamza, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed.

The series begins on August 21 with the first Test in Rawalpindi, followed by the decider at National Stadium in Karachi.
