Cricket, often referred to as a gentleman’s game, has seen its fair share of scandals both on and off the field.

While these athletes have mesmerized millions with their on-field brilliance, some have also made headlines for their personal lives, particularly for alleged extramarital affairs. Here, we explore the stories of three cricketers whose off-field controversies stirred the media.

Rumors have swirled around Pakistan's cricketer Shoaib Malik, who allegedly cheated on his second wife, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. Reports suggest that Malik had been in a relationship with Pakistani actress Sana Javed for three years, even before his marriage with Sania.

The revelation of this affair came to light during a podcast on Samaa TV, where journalist Naeem Hanif detailed how the two met on a reality show set. Malik reportedly insisted on having Sana accompany him on TV appearances, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation about their relationship.

Mohammad Azharuddin

Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin was at the center of controversy when rumors surfaced that he cheated on his actress ex-wife, Sangeeta Bijlani, a former Miss India.

The speculation intensified when reports of his alleged affair with badminton player Jwala Gutta emerged. However, both Azharuddin and Jwala denied these rumors, calling them baseless. Azharuddin stated that these were planted stories by people opposed to him in the Badminton Association of India, while Jwala dismissed the rumours as false.

Shane Warne

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne was as famous for his off-field controversies as he was for his cricketing prowess. Warne’s extramarital affairs, particularly his infidelity towards his wife, Simone Callahan, became the subject of widespread media attention.

Their marriage ended in 2005 after Warne was caught cheating multiple times. Warne later admitted his mistakes, revealing in an Amazon Prime documentary that he had turned to alcohol to cope with the guilt and sorrow after his family left him due to his scandals.
