In the latest development, South Africa jumped from eighth to the seventh number on the ICC World Test Championship points table after their recent outing at the against West Indies resulted in a draw.

The first game of the two-match series at the Queen's Park Oval ended bittersweet for both sides.

As it stands, the top three spots on the ICC World Test Championship points table are held by India, Australia, and New Zealand. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and England follow in the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions. 

West Indies, despite their draw against South Africa, remain in the ninth spot with 20.83% points. The Caribbean team has one win, five losses, and two draws in the ongoing WTC cycle.

Notably, South Africa's point percentage has risen from 25% to 26.67% after the draw, a significant increase. This draw has also led to a shift in the rankings, with Bangladesh dropping to the eighth position with 25% points to their name.

If the upcoming Guyana Test also ends in a draw, it will solidify the positions of South Africa and West Indies in the World Test Championship points table, adding to the anticipation of the ongoing tournament.
