After India secured an incredible 47-run victory against Afghanistan, the iconic fielding medal for the game was awarded to Ravindra Jadeja for his contributions of as many as 3 catches in the field.

Indian cricket team kicked off the Super 8 round on a winning note with a dominant 47-run win against the in-form Afghanistan team. Rohit Sharma and Co. struggled initially after opting to bat first.

But Suryakumar Yadav slammed a gritty half-century against the odds to steer India to a total of 181 runs.

With the ball, India's trump card, Jasprit Bumrah, weaved his magic to pick 3 wickets in his four-over spell while leaking just 7 runs.

That being said, Indian players' contribution on the field didn't go unnoticed as the trend of fielding medals continued in the dressing room following the win.

Fielding Coach T. Dilip gave an inspiring speech, acknowledging Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant for their situational awareness in the field.

However, Jadeja was eventually declared the winner for picking up three successful catches of Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan.

This time, the special guest for the fielding award ceremony was none other than departing head coach Rahul Dravid. He handed over the honours to Jadeja as the excited all-rounder lifted Dravid in his arms.

Notably, Jadeja's T20 World Cup has been underwhelming so far. However, against Afghanistan, he finally looked in good touch with a wicket and three important catches in the field.

That being said, with the winning momentum on their side, India will clash with Bangladesh in their second Super 8 game tomorrow at Antigua.
