The action in the India tour Sri Lanka now shifts to the longer format. India have whitewashed the home team in the T20I series and will be looking to repeat their antics in the ODIs too. With the shift in the format, the action will also see a change in the venue. The three match ODI series between the two teams will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The first match of the series will be taking place on 2nd August at 2:00 PM IST.

India

The Indian team put in a brilliant team effort in the recently concluded T20I series. The fact that India whitewashed the home team in the three match series does not underline the comebacks they made in all the three games. The whole unit under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav made comebacks from disadvantageous positions and managed to edge ahead. The team has really shown great character, grit and nerves in the shortest format of international cricket. 

The 'Men in Blue' will be looking to repeat their antics from the T20I series in the ODIs. With the arrival of the 50-over skipper, Rohit Sharma and other stars like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav the unit will feel even stronger. The Indian team will play only 6 ODIs before the Champions Trophy, that is scheduled to take place in February 2025. So, this series will serve as a preparatoy ground for the team ahead of the marquee event. 

Sri Lanka

After the beating that they have got from India in the T20I format, the home team will be desperate to make a strong came back in the ODI series. The most concerning thing for the Sri Lankan team in the T20I format was the way they gave away the momentums in all the three games. Charith Asalanka and his boys will be looking to change things around this time. With the change in the format the home team will be that there is a change in their fortunes. Much like the Indian team, the Sri Lankan team will be looking to use this series as a preparatory ground for the upcoming Champions Trophy in February 2025.
