Delhi Capitals sought a breakthrough against LSG during the 64th match of the IPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 14 and found success as Ishant Sharma dismissed KL Rahul early.

KL Rahul, who had recently garnered attention after facing criticism from the LSG team owner following the previous encounter against SRH and his exclusion from the T20 World Cup squad, appeared to struggle with the bat against the Capitals. 

However, despite the skipper's arrival after DC posted a score of 208 for LSG to chase, KL Rahul managed to score only 5 runs.

In the first over of the match, Ishant Sharma struck early, removing KL Rahul, the skipper of LSG. Ishant Sharma outclassed KL Rahul in the very first over, displaying a beautiful exhibition of swing bowling. 

Bowling over the wicket, he delivered a fuller ball pitching outside off and swinging away. Ishant's brilliant wrist action deceived Rahul, who, attempting a drive, ended up slicing the ball in the air. Mukesh Kumar, stationed at cover, called for the catch and sprinted from the 30-yard ring. 

Despite the ball initially popping out of his hands, he managed to regather it by getting low and completing the catch. Rasikh Salam, standing nearby, joined in the celebration by hugging Mukesh Kumar from behind in happiness.

At the time of writing, LSG at 71 for 4 in 8 overs.
