Riyan Parag has been a revolution in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The RR star boy, who looked inconsistent last season, has been their main talisman this season, with three back-to-back stellar performances.

However, the law of average finally caught up as he failed to deliver the goods in the Rajasthan's 4th match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Chasing 184, RR lost the plot when Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck. However, the two senior players, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson played some exquisite shots and took the game away from the opposition. Samson departed for 69, and it was well expected that Parag would steer his side past the winning line.

But a Yash Dayal delivery got the better of him. The RCB left-armer delivered a length ball and Parag failed to clear the mid-wicket region and found Virat Kohli, who took a simple catch. The entire Jaipur crowd was silent as their poster boy, for the first time this season failed to clear the hurdle.

Talking about the match, RR eventually made light work of the chase. It was the return in form for Jos Buttler, who remained unbeaten on 100 and spoiled Kohli's party, as the RCB batter, too, brought up his 8th ton in IPL.

With this win, RR have won 4 out of 4 and have solidified their place at the top of the table.
