Sarfaraz Khan is impressing everyone with his fluency and charismatic play with each innings passing. Playing just his third Test match for India, the 26-year-old batter has already notched as many half-centuries.

As India lost wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in quick succession, Sarfaraz and debutant Devdutt Padikkal joined hands to ensure the hosts didn't lose grip on the match. The duo have shared 97 runs between them, where the Mumbaikar played the role of an aggressor in the stand.

Sarfaraz didn't just put the spinners under the pump but also stood like a force against the pacers, primarily England's fastest bowler - Mark Wood. He unleashed his best against the speedster, playing a Rohit Sharma-esque pull stroke that went through the distance for a maximum.

On a delivery that was shorter in length and darted towards the right-hander's body, Sarfaraz guessed the line and length quickly before executing a perfect pull stroke over deep square leg. The hit became even more special as, just before thumping a maximum, the youngster played a lofted drive over mid-off against Wood.

Eventually, Sarfaraz Khan was undone by the wily Shoaib Bashir just after the Tea break.

At the time of publishing, Ravindra Jadeja (6*) and Devdutt Padikkal (65*) are batting for Team India, sitting comfortably at 403/4 with a lead of 185 runs at Tea on Day 2.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will increase the lead significantly and bat England out of the game with their first-innings score.
