Australian captain Pat Cummins had an outstanding start to the three-match ODI series against Pakistan, getting the prized scalp of Kamran Ghulam at a crucial juncture of the match. The experienced speedster bowled an absolute jaffa to get rid of Ghulam and pushed the visitors on the back foot.

The incident occurred during the 19th over of Pakistan's innings when Ghulam had just joined skipper Mohammad Rizwan in the middle following Babar Azam's dismissal. However, before he could create an impact, Australian skipper Pat Cummins sent him packing with an unplayable bouncer.

From over the wicket, Cummins bowled a full-length ball, drawing Ghulam on the front foot. However, he surprised the batter with a sharp bouncer, inducing an outside edge of his bat.

As Ghulam tried to defend the rising delivery, the ball brushed his gloves straight through to Australian wicketkeeper Josh Inglis, who took a simple catch behind the stumps. Thus, Kamran Ghulam, who recently struck a magnificent Test century as Babar Azam's replacement in the England Tests, went back to the dugout scoring five runs.

Pakistan In A Spot Of Bother In 1st ODI vs Australia

Riding on the bowlers' stunning performance, Australia have dominated Pakistan in the first ODI at Melbourne Cricket Ground. After Kamran Ghulam was dismissed, Rizwan was joined by his deputy Agha Salman in the middle. However, the batting all-rounder disappointed the visitors in the series opener, being dismissed for 12 runs by Sean Abbott. At the time of writing, Pakistan were tottering at 102 for five, with Rizwan and Irfan Khan Niazi batting on 33* and 0*, respectively.
