In a phenomenal achievement, Australia's premier fast bowler Mitchell Starc completed 100 wickets on home soil in One-Day International cricket. The experienced speedster attained the landmark during Australia's ongoing first ODI against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground. 

Opening the bowling for Australia, Starc castled Pakistan's debutant opener Saim Ayub for one run to achieve the aforementioned feat. 

Starc Joins Australian Greats In An Elite List

From over the wicket, Starc bowled a full-length delivery to Ayub, who was played on while attempting a drive away from his body. The dismissal marked Starc's 100th ODI wicket at home, placing him among the greats of the game. 

Brett Lee has the most wickets for Australia in home ODIs, with Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Craig McDermott following him in the standings. Starc currently occupies the fifth position with 101 wickets under his belt.

After dismissing Saim Ayub, Mitchell Starc got rid of his opening partner Abdullah Shafique with a sharp shot ball. After bowling a few full-length deliveries, Starc surprised the right-handed batter with a short ball, inducing an outside edge of his bat. Riding on his clinical new-ball burst, Australia have reduced Pakistan to 43 for two in 11 overs, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan batting in the middle.
