In a significant achievement, Afghanistan defeated one of the hot title contenders, Australia, in their second Super Eights encounter of the ongoing T20 World Cup at Arnos Vale, St Vincent. While Gulbadin Naib starred with the ball for Afghanistan, promising all-rounder Azmatuallah Omarzai took the final wicket of Adam Zampa, helping the Afghans script history. 

The incident occurred in the final over of the Australian innings when they were reeling at 125 for nine in 19 overs. With Zampa and Hazlewood batting, Australia's defeat was evident. 

Omarzai, coming to bowl the final over, did the trick for Afghanistan, getting the last wicket of Zampa on the second delivery. 

It was a back-of-the-length delivery from Omarzai as Zampa pummelled it straight down the ground. However, the shot didn't have the required power as the ball went straight to Mohammad Nabi, who took a simple catch to ensure an Afghan victory. 

Earlier, batting first, Afghanistan posted a respectable 148-run total, thanks to a solid 118-run opening stand between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. 

Despite putting up a disciplined bowling effort, the Aussies were lacklustre with the bat, resulting in their shambolic loss. Up next, they will face an unbeaten Indian team in their final Super Eights clash in St Lucia.
