New Chennai Super Kings signing, Jamie Overton had a horror show against the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League contest on Sunday. He went for truckloads of runs in a run-feast as the opposition batters made a mockery of him.
Overton, who will represent CSK in the upcoming IPL edition was taken to the cleaners against a rampant batting lineup of the Hurricanes as he conceded 54 runs in 3 overs and handed over the victory to the opposition.
However, the highlight of his lacklustre bowling came when Mitchell Owen smashed a colossal 11 metre six to stun Jamie Overton. He bowled a length ball on the stumps as the batter moved away from the line and smacked a gigantic 111 m six over the long-on fence.
Overton never recovered from that jolt as he conceded runs at an economy rate of 18 runs per over.
Tim David seals Hurricanes' win
Tim David was finally back amongst the run-getters. When the team needed him the most, the dangerous batter stepped in and played a blinder. The Hurricanes superstar smashed 62 off 28 balls, laced with 3 fours and 6 sixes as the team won the match by 5 wickets.
Earlier, Adelaide batted first and lost a couple of early wickets in the chase. However, Chris Lynn, alongside Ollie Pope and Alex Ross ensured that the team from Adelaide reach a respectable 186, which turned out to be an easy target for a rampant Hurricanes batting lineup.
With this win, Hurricanes are at the third position and the Strikers are languishing at the second last spot in points table.
