Naseem Shah strikes early for Markhors again (X.com)
Naseem Shah kept on doing wonders in Pakistan's Champions Cup, as he nicked Mohammad Akhlaq behind Bismillah Khan in Match 6 of the ongoing competition, where the Markhors were up against the Dolphins on Wednesday at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
Naseem Shah Decieves Mohammad Akhlaq
It was a gorgeous delivery by Naseem, and Mohammad Akhlaq was a bit confused about how to play it. Eventually, Naseem got a slight edge off Akhlaq’s bat, and Bismillah Khan, who took the big gloves instead of Mohammad Rizwan, made no mistake while taking the catch.
Placed at first slip, Rizwan too was delighted to see Naseem strike early, as Akhlaq’s stay did not last long, having lost his wicket after a two-ball 1. Needless to say, it was a major blow for the Saud Shakeel-led side.
Considering the fact that the Dolphins already lost Mohammad Huraira after a 12-ball duck, the wicket was much-needed for the Markhors to take the control so early while coming to defend the total.
Dolphins In Trouble Against Markhors In Champions Cup
At the time of writing this, the Dolphins are 94/4 after 21.1 overs, with Saud Shakeel holding the key, having smashed 40* off 50 deliveries. Asif Ali is currently batting alongside him, having reached 5* off 8 deliveries, as they are chasing a challenging target of 285.
It is important to note that Kamran Ghulam already smashed two centuries in three matches in the competition. Ghulam's majistic 110-ball 113, which included 12 fours and three sixes, helped the Markhors post 284/9 on the board.
