In the ninth match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, Papua New Guinea (PNG) is struggled against Uganda. Early in the innings, PNG faced significant setbacks, losing crucial wickets quickly, which hindered their momentum.  The trouble exceeded for PNG when they lost the wicket of in-form Sese Bau.

The incident occurred in the 2nd over when Juma Miyaji dismissed PNG key batter, Sese Bau.

Miyaji delivered a good length ball around the off stump, bowling over the wicket. Sese Bau attempted an aggressive shot and aimed to capitalize on the powerplay as he advanced down the track and tried to hit over mid-off.

However, he mistimed his shot, which resulted in the ball not clearing the mid-off fielder. Mukasa, positioned at mid-off, ran backwards and completed the catch at the circle's edge, sending Bau back to the pavilion for just five runs.

In the match against West Indies, Sese Bau demonstrated exceptional form, making a significant mark in PNG cricket history by becoming only the second batter from his country to score a fifty in a T20 World Cup match.

However, Bau's form did not carry over into the match against Uganda. In this game, he struggled early on and was dismissed for just 5 runs in the 2nd over, unable to replicate his previous performance.

This early wicket added to PNG's difficulties as they faced a challenging situation against Uganda's bowling.
