Marsh Drops Cummins As Australia Are Asked To Bat By Oman

Mitchell Marsh will be leading Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024 [X]

Australia and Oman are playing each other in the 10th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match is being hosted by the Kensignton Oval in Barbados. 

This game marks the start of the campaign for Australia. They are hunting a cricketing treble and will look to get a strong start by putting on their best display in the very first match. 

The Oman skipper, Aqib Ilyas Sulehri has won the toss and they have opted to chase in the game. The Aussie skipper looked happy to be batting first on the pitch.

The big surprise of the day was the absence of the ODI World Cup and WTC winning captain, Pat Cummins from the playing XI. Nathan Ellis have been preferred over Cummins for the game. They have also opted to go for Matthew Wade instead of Josh Inglis. 

There are also two changes in the Oman playing XI from the last match. They have dropped their wicket-keeper and opening batter, Naseem Khushi and drafted in Pratik Athavale and Shoaib Khan has been brought in place of Mohammad Nadeem.
