Papua New Guinea and Uganda are all set to play against each other in the ninth match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This game will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 6 at 5:00 AM IST.

Providence Stadium is historically known to be a low-scoring venue. Batters struggle to play their strokes freely here. So far, 15 T20I matches have been played here, four of which have been won by the team batting first, while eight have been won by the chasing team, with three games ending in no result.  The average first innings total at the venue has been around 132.

So, will we see a similar kind of wicket for the PNG vs UGA match, or will something change?

Providence Stadium, Guyana Pitch Report

The wicket at the Providence Stadium in Guyana has looked slow in the two games we have seen so far at this venue. The batters have struggled to get going, and a quality bowling attack will not allow the opposition to get past the 160 mark.

The pitch favoured the spinners in both games and assisted the pacers in the early stages. This trend is expected to continue in the upcoming match.

Considering the two teams' performances in their tournament openers, Papua New Guinea will have an advantage on the wicket. Their spinners and death bowlers did a great job against the West Indies, and they will look to do the same here. General cricketing sense suggests that PNG will pick up their first-ever T20 World Cup win in this game.
