One of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, Afghanistan demolished England's batting order in the World Cup 2023 game in Delhi, courtesy of Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, who bagged three crucial wickets. Mujeeb first cleaned up Joe Root, then came back with an extraordinary delivery against Chris Woakes to rattle his stumps and after that, Harry Brook.

It was the final ball of the 33rd Over when Mujeeb bowled an outstanding doosra or wrong'un, the one that comes back in sharply to the right-hander, which deceived England's number eight as the ball crashed onto the off-stump.

Woakes was never comfortable against Mujeeb's deliveries in the previous balls he had faced, as he was unable to read him from the hand. The entire over ended up as the maiden when the score was just 160, and Woakes' wicket turned out to be the seventh wicket for the Afghan nation.

Harry Brook was the man at the other end of the pitch who was getting impatient with wickets falling regularly. Ultimately, he succumbed to the pressure as the Three Lions were rolled out for just 215 while chasing 280 on the track that started favouring the Asian side.

England were undone by the spin trio of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi alongside Mujeeb as they combined for eight wickets out of ten. In the end, a victory by 69 runs gave Afghanistan their second win in the history of the World Cup.
