After Afghanistan ended their batting innings at 284, it seemed England's fiery batting line-up would make the game a lop-sided affair. However, against an all-round bowling department, the English batters are looking to create a mockery of the chase of 285 runs. With Rashid Khan swallowing Liam Livingstone's wicket, England have lost half of their at 117 as the Asian side is looking to pull off an upset for the ages.

Afghanistan - who have been playing World Cups regularly since 2015 - have won just a solitary fixture in the World Cup event. However, if the game stays on track for them, they might script history against the defending champions.

Under lights, the wily Rashid Khan showcased his charismatic class as he set up Livingstone with a magical googly. He dished a quicker one around the off-stump line, where the right-hander misread the variation to get plumb in front of the woods. The on-field umpire didn't take too long to raise his finger, however, the Englishman went upstairs but only to get embarrassed on the big screen.

Earlier in the second innings, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Jos Buttler went back to the hut cheaply - courtesy of Afghanistan's accurate bowling. Dawid Malan tried showing some resistance but his efforts were cut short by Mohammad Nabi.

At the moment, young Harry Brook at batting handsomely to save his national team's pride. Although he would need ample support from the lower middle-order batter to pull England out of trouble.

At the time of writing, the scoreboard is reading 134/5 after 26 overs, with Brook at 50* and Sam Curran at 8*.
