MS Dhoni and Deepak Chahar's connection goes a long way. Dhoni has been instrumental in making Deepak Chahar a trustable force, and the right-arm pacer has played a big role in CSK's success in the past. However, CSK did not retain or buy him for IPL 2025, and MI decided to rope in their rival of past years for the season.

MS Dhoni-Deepak Chahar's Banter Steals Show After CSK vs MI

Deepak Chahar did decently as well, scoring crucial runs with the bat and then got the wicket of Rahul Tripathi as well. He showed aggression at the time of his batting as well as after he got his wicket and Dhoni probably noticed it. Thus, at the end of the game, when the players were shaking hands, MS Dhoni decided to hit back. 

On a hilarious note, the former CSK skipper, fondly known as Thala used his bat to hit Deepak Chahar, showing the great chemistry and camaraderie between the two. Previously, there have been many occassions when the two have been involved in a healthy banter, and MSD is always seen pranking the pacer.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians batted first, but could not get going as Noor Ahmed picked a four-wicket haul. CSK started well with Ruturaj Gaikwad getting fifty, but young spinner Vignesh Puthur picked three wickets and backed MI back in the game. The match went till the last over, but Rachinn Ravindra kept his cool, and took his side over the line.
